We had a fantastic weekend at a hotel perched on the bank of the Ganges. the view of the river and the opposite bank from the rooftop terrace was spectacular at all times of day and activity on the water was fascinating to watch. the rooms were well-appointed and comfortable and the staff were extremely hospitable, helpful and friendly. We particularly enjoyed their recommendations for local sights and eats. the location was excellent, within walking distance of several key attractions.
noise from other guests and the surrounding area could sometimes be heard at night.

Located near the evening ceremony square and just five minutes away from it, this hotel made our Christmas really special. The staff welcomed us with flower garlands and complimentary drinks. We loved the comfortable and spacious lobby, and the rooftop restaurant which served tasty food. But the highlight was definitely the amazing view from our room, which looked out over the city. Even better, we could see the historic ghats and the Ganges right from our bed. The helpful staff and the wonderful location were also major advantages of staying here.
While we enjoyed our stay at this hotel, there were a few things that could have been better. First, the room we were given was quite small and lacked adequate lighting and ventilation.

The location of this hotel is absolutely unbeatable. Situated right by the Ganges river, it offers breathtaking views that will leave you mesmerized. Being just at the riverside, you can enjoy the tranquil atmosphere and easily access the main Ghats and temples of the city within a short walk. It's a true oasis in the midst of chaotic Varanasi.

The hotel is located on a narrow alley next to the observatory, perfectly situated for exploring one of the world's oldest cities. the rooms are spacious and the view of the river is breathtaking. Staff is helpful and attentive, even arranging boat trips. Climbing the stairs up to the restaurant provides a workout, but the food and views make it worth it.
One aspect of the hotel was not up to par, with some guests complaining about the slow service during breakfast.

Great location, helpful staff. I had a wonderful stay at A Palace On River. The hotel is conveniently located, making it easy to explore Varanasi on foot or by tuk-tuk. The staff were very helpful, especially with assisting us in getting our bags to the property as taxis couldn't come close. The room itself was good, with a comfortable bed and a nice view of the river. Though the air conditioning was a bit noisy and occasionally stopped working, it was manageable. The only drawback was that the bathrooms were basic and we had to request hot water. However, these minor inconveniences didn't outweigh the positives of our stay. The rooftop terrace offered a stunning view, and the restaurant served delicious food. I highly recommend this hotel for a memorable stay in Varanasi.
